The first geoTLD.group General Assembly of 2021 was hosted as a virtual meeting on Wednesday 24 March, during the ICANN 70 virtual Policy Forum.
The geoTLD.group proudly presented the new geoTLD.group website and the Group’s geoTLD video, which is available in 6 different languages .
Members discussed the Group’s Management Plan for 2021 and how the pandemic continues to impact plans and activities. They received a short briefing on the most relevant ongoing ICANN policy work and were updated on the geoTLD.group’s discussion on registry lock.
The members welcomed ICANN Vice-President for Government and IGO Engagement, Ms Elena Plexida, who provided more insight in the potential impact of recent EU initiatives, the EU Digital Services Act and the NIS2 Directive, on geoTLDs.
An introduction of the IDtrust initiative by Dion Goudkuil closed this online meeting.
