As part of the new gTLD-programs of ICANN, the punkt Tirol GmbH, a daughter company of Moser Holding AG, applied for the administration and marketing rights of .tirol as an independent Top Level Domain (TLD). In the summer of 2014, Punkt Tirol GmbH received the Registry agreement and since January 2015, .tirol domains are offered to be registered. .tirol is the new domain for everyone who wants to show their relation or connection to the federal state of Tirol. Tirol means mountains and nature, it also is famous for a leading touristic destination and a top-location for businesses. The domain .tirol enables expressing a relation and connection to Tirol for businesses, cultural institutions, associations, media, artists, but also privates.
