Universal Acceptance (UA) ensures that all domain names and email addresses are treated equally and can be used by all Internet-enabled applications, devices and systems. Achieving Universal Acceptance ensures that everyone has the ability to navigate and communicate on the Internet using the domain name and email address that best aligns with their interests, business, culture, language, and script.
geoTLDs & Universal Acceptance
geoTLDs are expressions of digital identities for cities, regions, language and culture. They contribute to the creation of a more diverse and inclusive internet ecosystem. Universal Acceptance solves practical issues with software and applications that are not yet updated to recognise and process domain names and email addresses of their choice because they are longer, don’t use a two- or three letter TLD, or use IDNs.

Universal Acceptance (UA) stellt die technische Gleichwertigkeit sämtlicher Domain Namen und e-mail-Adressen sicher, sodass diese bei allen Internet-basierenden Applikationen, Geräten und Systemen verwendet werden können. Korrekt implementiert ermöglicht Universal Acceptance das Navigieren und Kommunizieren mit jenem Domain Namen und jener e-mail-Adresse, die am besten den beruflichen und privaten Interessen, der Kultur, der Sprache und den bevorzugten Schriftzeichen jedes Individuums entsprechen.
geoTLDs & Universal Acceptance
geoTLDs stehen für digitale Identifikatoren von Städten, Regionen, Sprachen und Kulturen im Internet. Sie tragen wesentlich zur Pflege eines inklusiveren und diverseren Internets-Ökosystems bei. Universal Acceptance löst Probleme des tagtäglichen (Internet-)Lebens: viele Applikationen können (noch) nicht mit „neuen“ Domain Namen und e-mail-Adressen umgehen, sobald die TLD länger als 2 oder 3 Zeichen (.de, .com) ist oder Sonderzeichen (IDNs) enthält.
The geoTLD.group with the assistance of Eco Association of the Internet industry is organising a full day Universal Acceptance Technical training in Köln (Cologne) on 21 April 2023. The workshop will provide a general introduction to Universal Acceptance, why it matters, and how it can be achieved. The technical training will showcase tools and solutions for UA in programming and software development. Presentations will be in German & English; German will be the main working language for the training. The workshop will be fully hybrid and we encourage online participation if you’re not able to join us in Köln.
For Who? The morning session is for anyone interested in the topic of Universal Acceptance of domain names and email addresses; the training (afternoon) targets technical profiles involved in the design or wirting of software.
Die geoTLD.group veranstaltet am 21. April 2023 mit Unterstützung des „eco – Verband der Internetwirtschaft“ ein ganztägiges Universal Acceptance Technical Training. Dieser Workshop bietet eine generelle Einführung zum Thema, warum Universal Acceptance so wichtig ist und wie sie erreicht werden kann. Beim Technical Training werden Werkzeuge und Lösungen für die Software-Entwicklung anhand realer Problemstellungen vorgestellt werden. Die Präsentation und das Technical Training werden in primär in Deutsch (bei Bedarf auch in Englisch) gehalten werden. Die Veranstaltung ist als „voll-hybrides Event“ konzipiert. Wir empfehlen eine Online-Teilnahme, falls Sie nicht bei uns in Köln sein können.
Für Wen? Die Präsentationen am Morgen sind für jeden geeignet, die/der an Universal Acceptance interessiert ist oder interessiert sein muss. Das Technical Training (nachmittags) richtet sich primär an technische Experten im Bereich des Software-Designs und der Applikationsentwicklung.
